Dr. Gary Smith
Dr. Gary Smith graduated from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. After graduation, Dr. Smith went on to Rowley Memorial Animal Hospital in Massachusetts to complete an internship. He then furthered his career in New York where he spent six months at The Animal Medical Center sharpening his surgical, radiographic and medical skills.
Dr. Smith spent three and a half years at a practice in New York before coming back home to Cincinnati, Ohio. With the vision of a progressive and creative hospital, Dr. Smith opened County Animal Hospital in 1979 and went on to build a state-of-the-art facility that grew to be one of Cincinnati’s finest medical-surgical facilities. Dr. Smith is a member of AVMA, CVMA, and AAHA.
Dr. Smith and his wife Leah have three grown children, one of whom is completing an internship in Veterinary Medicine and will be going on to a residency program in Veterinary Oncology. They have two dogs, Callie and Lexie, and one cat, Mufasa. |

Dr. Rob Outzs
Dr. Rob Outzs graduated from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He married his wife Jennifer the following year. Jennifer teaches sixth grade math at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. They have a four-year old Chihuahua named Sadie Girl, along with a cat, snake, turtle and various other pets.
Dr. Outzs has a special interest in Exotics. The best day to schedule appointments with Dr. Outzs is on Wednesdays and weekends. He joined County Animal Hospital in 1998. Dr. Outzs is a member of AVMA. |

Dr. Fidan Kaptan
Dr. Fidan Kaptan received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Istanbul University, Turkey, then from Iowa State University. He was a research assistant for five years at Istanbul University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Kaptan has a master’s degree and PhD coursework from Istanbul University, Institute of Medical Science.
Dr. Kaptan worked in the Emergency and ICU departments of MedVet-CVES Hospital in Columbus, Ohio for three years. While in Columbus he volunteered for the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association-Rural Area Veterinary Services Spay/ Neuter Program.
Dr. Kaptan’s major interest areas are Internal Medicine, Dermatology, and Critical Care. He is very enthusiastic about his work and is a strong believer in providing quality medicine. He joined County Animal Hospital in 2007. Dr. Kaptan is a member of AVMA. |

Dr. Michael Cohen
Dr. Michael Cohen graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. He joined County Animal Hospital in 2007. He was President of the Miami Valley Veterinary Medical Association in 2003-2004, and is currently President of Beth Israel Congregation in Hamilton, Ohio.
Dr. Cohen has a St. Bernard named Skyy, a Boston Terrier mix named Founder, and four orange cats named Vito, Laundry, Gimpy and Sailor.
His main interests are surgery, internal medicine and preventative medicine. Dr. Cohen is a member of AVMA. |
