Why Choose County Animal Hospital?

What Other Are Saying?

It's not always a pleasant visit when you have to take your fur babies to the vet. Our Princess was definitely not a lover of people other than myself and my mom, but we knew something was wrong. We couldn't find anywhere to take her, everywhere was booked. However, the County Animal Hospital allowed us to bring her in even though they too were booked. Princess was everything but cooperative, however Dr. Kaptan and his staff were nothing but kind and professional. Unfortunately we didn't get to take our Princess home with us that day, she had a terminal diagnosis. As hard as it was letting go, they made it a lot easier of a process. Thank you all again, for what you did and do for others!

For over 2 years our 15 year old Pug, Gracie, has received laser therapy treatments for her arthritis at County Animal Hospital. Barb, one of the vet techs, gives her the treatments. Due to the laser treatments every 2 weeks, Gracie is not on any pain medications and walks (and yes) sometimes even runs like a much younger pug!!! We highly recommend Dr. Gary Smith and his staff as well as laser treatments for your fur babies!!

I would like to thank county animal hospital for all they did for me today on this holiday, I'm with HART Rescue and I called them this morning sobbing uncontrollably. The clerk waited patiently for me to be somewhat clear in what was happening. I was losing the 3 kittens I was fostering. I needed to get them there asap. She said to come in and they would be ready for me once I got there. I got there and they immediately took the kittens and me to the back room. The vet there..., Dr. Mike (was here from Cleveland to help on the holiday) immediately started working on our little Raphael. Inside I already knew. I approved them to help him on his way over the rainbow bridge. Dr. Mike was very understanding. They immediately began working on the other two kittens. Gabrielle and Micah. Their temps were extremely low in the 96.3 range. Inside I was dying. The staff there was soooo supportive. They began to warm them up slowly. Then Gabrielle passed. I had a horrible decision I knew I had to make for Micah's sake. I knew he was in pain. I asked Dr. Mike if he would help him to pass over the rainbow in a pain free way. I was able to hold him and love on him as he drifted off. The staff is incredible and went above and beyond. I asked that they test for pan leuk. They didn't have a test left and I don't know how many offices they called but they finally found one that would let them borrow a test. One of their staff went to that office and drove back and they tested. Thank goodness it came out negative to ease my mind and minds of many others that had come in contact with these babies. These babies were Heavens babies (Heaven a kitten herself who had these babies at around 8 months of age) She is currently in their care due to mastitis that opened up her gut because the infection got so bad. They have had to do two surgeries on this poor kitten who became a mom who should NEVER have had a chance to become pregnant because she should have been spayed when she was young. She never got to be a kitten. I write all this in hopes that people will SPAY/NEUTER their pets!!! We don't need babies having babies. Their bodies just cannot handle it!!! Thank you again to Dr. Mike and the extraordinary staff at County. You made such a rough day just a tiny bit easier with your kindness today. Sincerely Kewl Kitty Room/FB and Dawn Foyles

Thanks for the care and support you gave Dawn Foyles and the mother cat , Heaven and her babies that were entrusted in your care. Your compassion, professionalism and love for the mother cat and babies was so great to hear about. Thanks for your honesty and clear communication that allowed Dawn to make educated choices in all the care issues that emerged and still continue to shine brightly.

I just wanted to Say thank you to the awesome staff that handled an emergency situation amazingly.. a 10min old puppy was born with her intestine on the outside.. The staff was fast to get her checked out and unfortunately Put to sleep.. she was still wet from birth and still hadn't even nursed... the vet tech filled her belly with milk and made her comfy before putting her down.. how amazing are they knowing she wasn't going to live but still gave her their upmost attention.. I am forever grateful! And Pets With Potential Dobermans will keep you guys in mind for our up coming needs!

This wonderful place helped Dawn from HART rescue. they are currently taking excellent care of Heaven and provided such heart felt compassionate support of Gabrielle, Micah, and Raphael until the end, guiding and supporting Dawn in the terribly sad process.

There are few places you visit where care is more important than convenience, and your vet's office should be at the top of that list. Dr. Smith and his staff are so devoted to caring about you and your fur kids that it doesn't matter if you had to drive 5, 15, or 50 minutes to get there. Dr. Smith has been taking care of my kids for over 15 years and I couldn't think of a better place for them to go when they need medical attention or just a romp on the floor.

One of the standard poodles in my family (Jourdain) has suffered an ear infection for well over a year. Gary Smith DVM is the only vet among 3 others who has discovered the source of this issue which is a need to limit Jourdain's diet to fish & a potato-based kibble. Since this adjustment in Joudain's nutritional plan, the discharge in his ears has been clearing & he has no longer been shaking or tilting his head. We here are quite pleased with how Jourdain's health has been improving.

Thank you Dr. Smith for taking such good care of our little Riley. He was attacked by a much bigger dog and seriously injured. As Riley began to heal Dr. Smith suggested we try laser therapy on Riley. Riley went from hardly walking to walking and running as if he had never been injured. Thank you Dr. Smith and staff for your care and compassion.

We had to have our beloved Koko put to sleep recently, and we went to County Animal Hospital. Koko was almost 15 years old... and was an awesome girl. They were great at County Animal Hospital. I really wanted to thank you guys for being so compassionate during one of the most difficult times of our life. This picture was taken of Koko this past December... she loved the snow.

I love County Animal Hospital. The caring doctors and staff took care of my pugs for 16+ years. From routine care and kenneling through the years, and then even at their end of life, they were the epitome of love and care. Dr. Smith now cares for my current canine family as well. I wouldn't want to entrust my precious fur kids to anyone but County Animal Hospital.
